The Northern Kentucky Area Development District (NKADD, Public Non-profit) is seeking a qualified individual for the full-time position of Finance Director.
This role is responsible for providing financial leadership in planning and executing the financial goals and objectives of the NKADD. Maximizing the efficient use of funding to provide services to the community and to constituents is a key responsibility of the Finance Director. This position prepares all monthly and annual financial statements and manages the financial performance of the organization including updating and adhering to financial controls, analyzing budgets, planning, forecasting, and reporting.
The role directs and mentors a divisional staff of 4 and includes oversight of payroll, accounts receivable and payable, cash flow, budgeting, analysis, and the fiscal management of a Waiver Program. Additionally, there is responsibility for coordinating and leading the annual audit process and communicating with external auditors and the Treasurer of the Board of Directors.
As a member of the Senior Leadership team, this position helps set organizational direction and ensures that the Finance Division is an integral part of decision making and strategic planning. The successful candidate will be highly organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate and present financial matters to the Executive Director, the Leadership Team, and to the Board of Directors. This role also requires a strong knowledge and proficiency in financial software, the advanced functions of Excel, and various databases.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field with two to three years of directly related experience in accounting and finance, supplemented with demonstrated experience in the management of personnel. Knowledge of GAAP accounting, financial statements, general ledger, journal entries, budgeting, account analysis, bank reconciliations, etc. is also required. Experience with fund accounting and governmental finance practices a plus. Experience with AccuFund Accounting Suite a plus. Payroll experience preferred. Candidate must have the ability to successfully complete a comprehensive background check.
Starting Salary: $70,000 - $80,000, DOQ.
