The Northern Kentucky Area Development District (NKADD) is seeking a qualified individual for the position of full-time HelpLine Addiction Case Manager for the Northern Kentucky Office of Drug Control Policy.
This is individual will be responsible for in-bound calls, case management, pre-arrest diversion/QRT, and some community education. This position may be asked to work in a variety of settings to maintain consistent contact with participants including office, community, correctional or medical facility and/or transitional living environments. The HelpLine Addiction Case Manager assists participants in connecting to prevention, treatment, disease management, and recovery services & resources. Responsibilities will also include follow-up documentation, record keeping, and the regular use of a database. The person in this position will work with individuals receiving services from providers of multiple social services with the goal of teaching/improving self-advocacy skills. Additionally, the HelpLine Addiction Case Manager helps providers develop and/or enhance their understanding of both person-centered care and the support network available to participants. Some community education and attendance at community meetings required, necessitating the ability to demonstrate public speaking skills and to provide presentations when requested. Due to the nature of this role, flexibility in scheduling will be key and on-call responsibilities as well as non-traditional hours will be required.
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field required. A combination of education and experience will be considered. Significant experience/knowledge/accomplishment in substance abuse education/prevention/treatment/recovery may supplement education and/or experience. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness and ability to complete in-home visits. Candidate’s must possess solid organizational and time management skills, problem-solving, and decision-making skills as well as relationship building skills. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player who will also be comfortable and able to work independently. The ability to collaborate well with a variety of colleagues, participants, partner agencies and resource providers is necessary. Maintaining positive work relationships and a professional demeanor are critical to success in this role. Applicants must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
