The NKADD is seeking a qualified individual for a full-time Community Development Specialist to join the Public Administration and Community Development Division. Responsibilities include providing assistance to local government officials with public administration and community/economic development issues which may include grant writing and administration, budgeting, tax rate calculations, human resources technical assistance, planning, geographic information systems (GIS), special projects and research. This position requires some presentation skills as well as the ability to work with a variety of local government officials and representatives from partner agencies. Travel within an 8-county region also a requirement. Candidate must have exemplary communication and writing skills.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and a team oriented approach in working with colleagues, partner agencies, and other stakeholders. Public Administration experience and/or proficiency with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) desirable. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills required. Maintaining positive work relationships, as well as a professional demeanor is critical to success in this role.
