The NKADD is seeking a qualified individual for the full-time position of Associate Director to lead the Workforce Development Program.
The Associate Director serves as the lead administrator for the Workforce Investment Board (WIB) and its committees; facilitates and implements the local workforce regional plan and assures quality delivery of workforce services and supports throughout an 8 county region. This is a highly responsible position involving leading regional workforce development efforts and client service delivery through planning, organizing, budgeting, supervising and managing staff; and fiscal oversight of an annual budget of $3.3 million in federal funds for workforce system development. Critical to this role is the ability to successfully partner with a range of leaders in business, education, economic development, and state and local office holders with the goal of achieving the requirements established under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014 (WIOA). This position is responsible for the strategic implementation of the policies and directives of the WIB Board. The Associate Director is also responsible for the management of day-to-day operations including divisional staff workloads, direction, and evaluations; oversight of multiple grant programs; budgeting; as well as compliance with state, federal and local program requirements. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate success in working with multiple stakeholders, professionalism in networking and relationship building skills, as well as leadership and mentoring of divisional staff. Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Liberal Arts, Business or related field with two to three years of senior leadership experience preferred. An appropriate combination of education and experience may be considered. Demonstrated experience in management of grants, programs, and personnel required. The ideal candidate will have the ability to relate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds with a high level of integrity; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and professional writing, verbal, and presentation skills. Candidate must have the ability to successfully complete a comprehensive background check. Some travel required to promote coordination and collaboration of workforce programs.
