Resources Counselor - Meals Eligibility Specialist
The Northern Kentucky Area Development District is seeking a qualified individual for the position of full-time Resources Counselor – Meals Eligibility Specialist.
This position is an integral part of the Agency’s Resource Center that helps to serve the residents in our 8-county region needing Home Delivered Meal Service, primarily through the management of calls and in-home appointments. Responsibilities include assessing the needs of consumers; assisting with determination for eligibility; coordinating with available Meal Provider services; and completing all follow-up documentation. Duties will also include serving as a back-up to other Resource Counselors. The position of Resource Counselor – Meals Eligibility Specialist necessitates the ability to respectfully interview/assess/counsel those requesting information; multi-task by listening, entering information and at times looking up resources/info all at once; complete timely paperwork and database entry; meet required deadlines consistently; and to deliver excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate high personal integrity, strong customer service skills, a desire to serve, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Candidate must have excellent communication and writing skills and knowledge of community resources.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field preferred. High School Diploma/GED required with one (1) year of experience and knowledge of the aging and disabilities populations and programs as well as one (1) year of experience working in a Resource Center/Call Center Setting. A combination of training and experience will be considered. Customer Service orientation including exceptional listening skills and follow-documentation skills required. Familiarity with Medicaid waiver a plus. Candidates must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness and ability to complete in-home reviews on a regular and reliable basis. Must possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills required. Strong computer skills related to databases, Microsoft Office, Outlook and the Internet required. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of excellent attendance and commitment to a team-oriented work environment.
Starting salary range from $28,000 to $32,000. Excellent benefits and generous retirement plan. EOE. TDD 711.
