The NKADD is seeking a qualified individual for a full-time Community Development Specialist - Pendleton County to join the Public Administration and Community Development Division. This position works directly with the county, cities and water districts on community and economic development and tourism projects.
Responsibilities includes planning, grant writing, project management and tourism and providing assistance to local government officials with public administration and community/economic development issues. This position requires presentation skills as well as the ability to work with a variety of Federal, State, and Local government officials and representatives from businesses, partner agencies, boards, and committees. The position is based in Pendleton County. Candidate must have excellent communication and writing skills, as well as experience in grant administration, planning and reporting.
Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Public Administration, or related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and a team-oriented approach in working with colleagues, partner agencies, and other stakeholders. Public Administration experience and/or experience with project management, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills required. Maintaining positive work relationships, as well as a professional demeanor is critical to success in this role.
