Employment Connections provides a seamless transition of deliverable services that build on opportunities designed to assist Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program (K-TAP) and SNAP recipients to attain their highest potential, maintain meaningful employment and achieve economic self-sufficiency. Employment Connections serves Boone, Bourbon, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Harrison, Kenton, Nicholas, Owen, Pendleton and Scott counties.
KTAP participants of the Employment Connections program are referred exclusively by the Department for Community Based Services (DCBS). SNAP recipients can be referred by DCBS or self- refer by contacting Employment Connections directly.
Who does the program benefit / What are the benefits
Employment Connections provides employment opportunities to K-TAP and SNAP recipients by assisting participants to develop skills to obtain, retain and/or upgrade employment skills and secure employment. The program staff encourages employers to hire participants or provide them with job work experience.
Employment Connections offers clients active participation in community service and work experience in non-profit agencies, job readiness training, as well as wage subsidy for K-TAP clients and unsubsidized employment opportunities.
