The City of Florence, KY, is looking for a qualified individual to join the Public Services Department in the Fleet Division. This position will report to the Fleet Manager and consist of performing routine maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of automotive and construction equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or its equivalent, completion of a recognized course in automotive mechanics, supplemented by at least two years of progressively responsible work experience in a mechanically-related field, or any combination of education, training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to effectively perform the duties of the position. Must obtain four current Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications within two years of employment.
The successful candidate must possess a valid Driver’s License and must obtain a Commercial Driver’s License within 6 months of employment. Must have a broad knowledge of the principles and operation of gasoline and diesel engines and mechanical repair. Must also have mechanical aptitude and the ability to schedule and complete work in an efficient manner. The City of Florence is an EOE.
