Fort Wright seeking Full Time Finance Clerk


The City of Fort Wright is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual for the position of Full-Time Finance Clerk. The position reports directly to the City Administrator and is responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable of the City, participating in the efficient operation of the Administration Department, and rendering high quality service to our residents.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, as well as, strong math, organizational and multi-tasking abilities and be customer service oriented. Ability to work independently is a must. He or She should also possess strong writing skills and be proficient in various technology to create word processing documents, databases, and spreadsheets.

Position duties include, but are not limited to, assisting incoming citizens/answer incoming telephone calls; facilitation of account payable/account receivable transactions; balance cash drawers; assist in annual audits; serve as the City Tax Collector/Revenue Collector; filing; maintain inventory and asset logs; Federal, State, and Local reporting; prepare deposits; records retention; interpret City Ordinances and State Statutes; process passports; attend meetings of Council and Board of Adjustments and prepare minutes as needed; provide clerical support to CAO which may include grant writing, reporting, and facilitation, while rendering both excellent external and internal customer service. Ability to maintain various office equipment, and be able to bend, life and move items in excess of 25 pounds.

The successful candidate should possess minimally an Associate Degree (Bachelor preferred) from an accredited university in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, Public Administration, or another closely related field, supplemented by previous comparative work experience; OR any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities. Proficiency in Sage 50 software desired but not necessary. Must be able to obtain a CMC Certificate; Notary Public; NIMS/ICS Certificate; Passport Acceptance Certification; and be bondable (All necessary trainings provided).

Starting Range (DOQ) for the position is $46,161.65 to $62,082.29.
