Winter Senior Games Includes Euchre Tournament

On Tuesday January 9, 2018 more than 125 athletes aged 50 and above attended the 2018 Winter Senior Games at the Fort Thomas Armory Gymnasium.  A variety of indoor games were played during the morning activities including: Mini Golf, Snow Skittles, Hockey Shot, “Snowball” Toss, Billiards, Basketball Spot Shooting, Pop-a- Shot, Freezebee Toss.

A light breakfast, the games, and a box lunch, followed by the awards announcements summarized the days’ events.  Socializing and friendly competition provided some mid-winter fun to the participants from Northern Kentucky, some from as far away as Carroll County.

The following day, January 10, a Senior Games Euchre Tournament was held at the Boone County Library on Route 18. Approximately 35 players attended. This is the first time for the Euchre Tournament to be held in conjunction with Senior Games.  Participants remarked that they enjoyed the day very much, so look for this to be an annual event.

The 2018 Spring Games are planned for May 7- June 6 at a variety of locations throughout Boone, Campbell, and Kenton Counties.  Registration forms will be mailed or available for pickup by March 7.   The Senior Games planning committee looks forward to seeing you in May!
